Accepting Flaws

Posted on May 15, 2008

Tuesday I was flying...“Each of us has our own unique flaws. We just need to take each person for what they are, and look for the good in them. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape. Remember to appreciate all of the different people in your life.” – Anoyomus

A few months ago I read a book by Mark Landsberg called Landsberg’s Law. The book is about his life and he recounts what it was like to travel the world volunteering with the Peace Corps. One of the best take-aways from this book was the compassion and acceptance he offered to every person he met.

When I read the Anoyomus quote yesterday it reminded me that we all have flaws, but we are all perfect too. Sometimes we have to accept the flaws within ourselves in order to be truly happy and fulfilled. I know that I have a ton of flaws, yet they make me who I am. Once we accept the flaws in those around us, we become more accepting and welcoming. I know this to be true in my own personal life.

Are you flexible?
