Reprinted from a RESOLVE email - Midwest Region needs help getting legislation passed in Minnesota. This benefits all women and couples dealing with infertility no matter which state you live in.
 We are in the process of bringing a bill to the Legislature that would provide infertility insurance (including IVF) for all citizens of Minnesota. It is called the Family Building Act of Minnesota. We need your help to educate legislators by sharing personal stories of how the financial burden of infertility treatment may have affected you and your family building effort. We are hosting Advocacy Day at the Capitol on Thursday, Feb. 28 from 8:00 AM till 4:00 pm to visit legislators and share the bill. We need people who believe in this bill, to let legislators know how important this issue really is to their constituents. We cannot bring this bill forward without your help. Please contact your legislator to make an appointment for Thursday February 28, between 9:00am - 4:00pm . Tell them your story and ask them to support the Family building Act of Minnesota. Here is a link to find your MN legislators. We will have other people available to join you on your appointment and talk about the bill itself. Contact us and we can add your appointment to our list. We currently have scheduled 25 appointments on that day starting at 9:00 am. Appointments generally last 15 minutes. So you may not be able to share your story in every appointment, but we need sheer numbers of people to come and be there, just to let them know how important this issue is to us. Please join us: Thursday, February 28, 2008 Time: 8:00am - 4:00pm Where: Best Western - Kelly Inn We will meet at the Kelly Inn at 8:00am and leave for the Capital at 8:45am. What: Meet legislators to share our stories, education on the facts of infertility and why it’s important to support new legislation. Who: Everyone is welcome to join us for all or part of the day Cost: FREE (except for lunch and/or parking) Schedule: 8:00am Best We stern - Kelly Inn 8:45am Leave Kelly Inn for Capitol 9:00am Appointments with legislators begin Noon Lunch in the Cafeteria 12:45 -4:00 Appointments with legislators If you can’t join us on the 28th, please contact your legislator and ask them to have coffee with you in your neighborhood. Or if you can’t meet with them, send them a letter. Tell your story and explain how having insurance coverage could have impacted you. Please ask them to support the Family Building Act of Minnesota. They are here to listen to their constituents. This is our chance to make a difference for those suffering from the disease of infertility in the state of Minnesota.
