Today, I interview Aaron and Malky Benedict. Aaron and Malky have their own podcast at The Benedict Family. They are fun to listen to and offer a lot of great information for the [in]fertility community.
Aaron and Malky struggled to conceive their first child. They became pregnant with the assistance of Clomid/IUI. Unfortunately, their dreams of being parents were dash when their first child, their daughter, was stillborn. It’s heart breaking when a baby is born too soon or stillborn. They are still very emotional about their experience, and rightfully so: It is not something you move past or forget.
They became pregnant again, shortly after Malky’s mother passed away. They named their second child after her. As grateful as they are to have a child they would love another. After experiencing primary infertility they are now experiencing secondary infertility. They have devoted 12 years of their lives, their marriage, to building a family.
What I love most about Aaron and Malky is their dedication to each other and their family. They have a deep love for one another and approach their life challenges as a team. They are truly beautiful people. Their story is both sad and heartwarming. I hope you enjoy the interview.

[…] Aaron and I had the honor of being interviewed by Kelly Damron, the author of Tiny Toes and the Twin Peas Blog and Podcast. We talk in more detail about our fertility journey so far and the emotions that go with it. Also, how we try to support each other and cope with it all. Check it out here. […]
It’s encouraging to hear that they did have a child! I really hope they are pregnant soon.

Infertility is just so heartbreaking - while they are so lucky to have one child, I think secondary infertility can be quite devastating as well. And while people often try to help by saying some platitude such as “be glad you have at least one healthy child”, it doesn’t make someone feel better. When you want kids, you want kids - nothing anyone can say will make it better!
Malky & Aaron have become great friends through our Infertility journey! I too have been going through this for almost 12yrs..With 1 miracle boy who will be 7. Malky and I met for a reason & she has become an important part in my life! I am so glad u did this…They opened up, and I know they needed that! BTW, I just started to go to the Sher Institute in Long Island NY. I am looking forward to all my test results, with “maybe” an answer to our Infertility! I enjoyed the show very much!

I can’t wait to download this and your other podcasts. Can’t do it now from dial-up :-(, but I’m so glad you posted on my blog so that I could find yours. I’m especially looking forward to hearing your interview with Dave. You have a beautiful family.
I think people forget about Secondary Infertility. It was great to have Aaron and Malky on my podcast. They are wonderful people trying to make a difference for those still in the fight.
