CNN and Frozen Embryos

Posted on September 2, 2009

Yesterday in the health section of CNNhealth.com was the article from Parenting.com “What happens to extra embryos after IVF?” Topics about infertility are making headline news, and it’s not about a crazy woman with 13 kids! This is progress.

Yesterday, my husband calls me and said, “Hey, you are quoted on CNN.com.” I asked him what the quote was in reference too. He mentioned it was regarding our extra embryos. He thought it was so cool. I chuckled as I explained the Parenting.com article came out last week and I already knew I was quoted. It’s like I burst his bubble because I already knew about the article. He was so proud of me for being quoted. I have to admit, I was very proud of him for being so proud of me. He could have been upset or offended by my remarks. Whew!

On a sad note about progress, Pamela Jeanne wrote an article for More.com asking why fertile women are not more compassionate about their infertile counterparts. This is an area where we definitely need to make more progress! Read Pamela’s article: Why the Deaf ear, Feminists?
