psa.jpgAs the Mother’s Day holiday approaches, I’ve read a few blogs from women and men who have yet to gain the title of parent. On Mother’s Day, and on Father’s Day too, I think it is important to recognize those who don’t find joy in these holidays. Visit Pamela to learn how to pamper yourself during your IF journey. Visit Jimmy Moore to get tips on how to handle the upcoming holidays. And lastly, visit Perchance to Dream to read her moving post about loosing her mom at a young age and her feelings about Mother’s Day while in the IF journey.

I think it’s important for society to be sensitive, therefore, I provide these stories for you to ponder.

Thanks Kelly. I hope that even one person gains some understanding from this….I appreciate your referencing my site.

I understand that you’re focus is on childless people faced with these days…I don’t have children.
My difficulty with the ‘holiday’ is the absence of my mother, who passed away suddenly less than 2 years ago. In addition, I lost my maternal grandmother less than a year ago and a close aunt just 2 months ago.
The past month of escalating ads for Mother’s Day gifts has pushed me further back down into the depression that I’ve been fighting since the loss of my mother.
I’m single and in my 40s. This is a difficult weekend to face alone.

You’re very sweet, Kelly. Wishing you the best on this holiday and every day…

    Thank you
