Kelly K. Damron is the mother of fraternal twin girls conceived with the assistance of in vitro fertilization (IVF). She lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with her husband, Dave, and their two daughters. As a person with a drive and desire to help others, she is an active volunteer with the W. P. Carey MBA Alumni Council, the March of Dimes, and RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association.

Knowing that most people within the infertility community are fairly guarded about their circumstances, and having spent seven lonely weeks in the NICU, Kelly decided to speak up about the issues that had become most important to her. When she started volunteering with the March of Dimes, she realized that few people really understood the crisis of premature birth.

A few of Kelly’s friends encouraged her to write a book about her experience. With topics about infertility, contemplating divorce, premature birth of twins, depression, and happiness, Kelly’s friends thought her story would be an inspiration to others. Kelly initially laughed at the idea; then she slowly started to wonder what kind of impact her journey could mean to both infertility and prematurity awareness. The result? She wrote Tiny Toes: A Couple’s Journey Through Infertility, Prematurity, and Depression.
